31 Dead in Moscow

On Monday,January 24, 20ll, there was a reported bombing in a Moscow airport. According to multiple reports, officials believeit was a terrorist attack. LA Times commented that the explosion “left at least 31 peopledead and more than 130 injured.”

What happened?

A CNN correspondent wrote “State TV, citing Russian authorities, said the bombing was an act of a suicide bomber who stuffed a home-made bomb with small metal objects to m ake it more deadly, then activated it in a small area where more people were waiting for arriving passengers.”

Let us take a flashback to past terrostist attacks in Russia.

In March of an unknown year, a female suicide bomber killed 38 people and woundedmore than 60.  In Novemberof 2009, explosive devices killed 26 people.

So tell us, where is the secutiry who are being PAID to protect the citizens and how helpful are they?

“Yelena Galanova, spokesperson for the airport said that flights were arriving and departing as usual. But there was nothing usual about the fars taxi drivers at Domodedovo were reportedly charging immediately after the blast,” LA Times reports.

Everything went on as usual after these 20 minutes of destruction. But the question is how?

“President Obama called the bombing a ‘premaditated attack against innocent civilians’(CNN).” Someone else also stated that “to strike in the airport… to have such a devistating attack with such a tragic result, means that they planned this considerably well and gone ahead in achieving their aims (CNN).”

Why are all these terrorist attacks happening in Russia? What is the true aim of whoever is responsible? And what are going to be Russia’s next steps in dealing with these attacks?
